SAD

FOLLOW MY HEART HERE
Hi, sad day for us as our budgie died this morning.  He was 12 years old, a really good age & had been poorly for a few days & we found him this morning.
End of an era for us.  We used to have 5 budgies, that was such huge fun, I keep going into the sitting room & looking for him x

  1. Oh Shelagh I am so sorry. I know how you feel as I lost a budgie who was 6 years old and was definitely one of the family. He was hardly ever in his cage and even drank the gravy from our plates after Sunday lunch! I still think of him 35 years later. So you see I can completely empathise with you - and 12 years old...he was obviously well loved :o) Hugs to you...Angela x

  2. Thank you Angela. Soem people think it is odd to love a Budgie but I did, they were lovely & friendly, yours sounds real fun. We wont be having anymore now,in the hopes that he cardboard box cat Lottie will eventually live with us, she actually comes in the dining room sometimes. We had to be so careful because of Tori budgie, there is a big hole in our sitting room where the cage was. x

  4. I'm so sorry he's goneOh, I've been thinking of getting one, Mine died several years ago but with the two cats, I don't think so, My dog almost ate one of my three chickens, I had to get rid of them.

  5. Sorry to hear this Shelagh, but what a good age bless him.
My dad bred budgies when I was a kid and I loved holding and stroking the babies, he reckoned the early handling was what helped them talk..........lol am sure that was just to make me happy. Mum taught granmas budgie to say......bugger, bugger, bugger....soooo funny in a yorkshire accent.

  6. I'm so sorry. They really do become part of the family. We have a parakeet the same color. I don't know how old he is but I wonder what I'd do if we lost him. big hugs for you.
