I HATE AOL

I HATE AOL - we have under 0,2 megabites and I can do nothing - uploads, downloads HA, Ive ranted at them on the phone...I am seething, seems 18 years of continued support means diddly squat.
All my links will all be gone, I am trying to access them to no avail

DAFFY GONE

Daffy has gone.  I am quite astonished at how many hits I had during this Daffy week!!  Thank you for your support.  Some FREEBIES are on here without advertising!!  Some are from the newsletter only, I have sent a few this time via email, but that was a one-off and in future FREEBIES will be time downloadable & viewing, they are always available to purchase, which would be really lovely!!

The weather here in England is terrible, cold, wet and miserable and its a Bank Holiday weekend coming up

This week I visited a local patchwork shop called thequarterinch in market Harborough, a small shop with a pleasant lady in charge, Market Harborough is a lovely town, even better for eating pizza by the river in cold windy weather

I am to be a first time Grandmother this year and am now the proud owner of some fabulous childrens fabrics via Internet shops
I am now busy designing a quilt to use all the fabulous fabric.  I have sorted a storage box to put children fabrics and inspirations in & some robots jumped into my bag from the quarter inch.  This week I may be visiting another shop on a ladies jolly day out

I bought a charm pack of Le Petit Odile & have started a bag and a tool roll, in betwwen I have been playing with Transprint a fabulous transfer ink from thethreadstudio.com & other scrummy products.

Ive many pictures on my phone of students work and will try to upload them this weekend, there may also be a special or two

WHERE IVE BEEN

Busy me, busy family.  Moving house, painting, cleaning, polishing, sweeping, painting, washing windows, hoovering, painting...ouch a BIG case of the DOMS
(delayed onset muscle soreness) and worse of all, starving hungry I have just scoffed a big mac, never ever again, yuk yuk and yukky, now I am tired, achy and feel sick, how on earth to people eat these things more than once, horrendous
No images, no time, but its looking good, and I must get a new vileda super mop, strange how a little thing can be so pleasing, I actually enjoyed moping the huge expanse of laminate flooring (gosh I must be tired) and now for some unfathomable reason I am actually sitting in front of the TV and there is FOOTBALL on, weird Shelagh, get a grip  My goodness these men go on and on about rubbish look like animated subutteo heehee, sorry to ramble x

PANDA

Look at this lovely baby Panda, waving to us all
Just so cute, I could not resist it

The Splash freebie is still there, with a new link, its not downloadable or printable but it can be seen and read & also purchased.  I have been told that I am generous, too generous, so Ive taken the printing option off the freebies, perhaps thats why some of you are having problems.  Usually freebies from my NEWSLETTER (see page tab at top of blog) ARE printable & downloadable.  Sign up, its FREE

Just been out for a really SHORT walk in high winds that nearly blew me over (thats saying something), perhaps not a good idea with earache which is now awful, pill popping earache, grrr, Ive a very bored husband after his operation & I thought Id keep him company (awww)

Im looking forward to a weekend of painting & laughing with my family and friends, hope you have a good time too.  Thanks for reading x

OTHER BLOGS

Hi, thought for the day maybe? we all lurk around blogs and forums, learning and looking and laughing and crying,
I subscribe to this ladies interesting blog
http://margaret-cooter.blogspot.co.uk/

On here she has posted a poem

A Collector
The things I found
But they'll scatter them again
to the four winds
as soon as I am dead
Old gadgets
fossilised plants and shells
books broken dolls
coloured postcards

And all the words
I have found
my incomplete
my unsatisfied words

Erich Fried
translated by Stuart Hood
(representing Austria in World Poems on the Underground)

This has really resonated with me and my life.  I love to talk, I love to write, great long sentences (if a regular reader you know only too well, there 10 words when two would do) precis, not in my vocab.

What happens to all our utterances through out our years?  We leave behind the broken dolls, the old gadgets, the huge stash of fabric and stuff, oh so much stuff, but our words????

Until this poem I had never considered this, now I am fascinated by it, if only I could translate it to a textile work.  I guess the best way to leave your words is carved on stone or wood as our ancestors did, or wait, now we can consign them to a BLOG, left for all to read until the Internet is completely clogged up and like an old book it gets covered in gesso and painted over

I think I shall do more writing, then cover it and stitch it, or stitch writing to leave behind my words

What do you think?  Am I just plain bonkers or are you inspired to leave behind your words?
Wonderful work, her ladies have words machined all over their skin, such a talented artist, I need to consign my words and thoughts into something tangibile and not just others heads and the air!
